How to make a crib or cot for your baby
Making a crib or cot can sometimes be a bit complicated for new parents. We explain step by step what you need and how to make the bed, so that your baby can sleep safely and comfortably.
Supplies:
- Molton
- Fitted sheet
- Sheet
- Blanket, preferably cotton
How do you make a crib or cot for your baby?
Step 1: Molton
First, place a molton on the mattress. A molton is an extra protective layer that protects the mattress from moisture and dirt. The fitted sheet goes on top of this.
Step 2: Fitted sheet
Then pull the fitted sheet tightly around the mattress. Make sure the fitted sheet fits well and is tight around the mattress. This is important for the safety of your baby.
Step 3: Sheet
Now it is time to make the sheet. Place the sheet on the bed with the top edge at the height of the baby's shoulders. The sheet should not be higher than the baby's shoulders. Fold the sheet tightly under the mattress and tuck it in on both sides. Make sure that the sheet is not too tight, but also not too loose. It should not come loose or be pulled loose by the baby.
Step 4: Blanket
Finally, place the blanket over the sheet. Make sure that the blanket is not higher than the baby's shoulders. The blanket must be breathable, which is why cotton is a good choice. You can tuck the blanket loosely under the mattress. Our 100 x 115 cm baby blankets can be used for both the crib and the cot.
Important to remember:
- Make the bed sturdy and safe.
- Do not place the crib near a window, curtains or near cords or electrical outlets.
- Make sure your baby sleeps on his or her back to prevent SIDS.
Now you know how to make a crib or crib for your baby. Follow these steps and make sure your baby can sleep safely and comfortably.
